Blog > A New Place to Call Home
The news came as a shock.
With tears in her eyes, Debbie Sanders just kept repeating over and over, “Are you sure they want my house? Are you sure they looked at my house?”
This long-time Washington resident had only recently become a widow. As a result, the empty nester had been left with both a home and mortgage payment that were just too large for her to handle for much longer. She was ready to not only downsize to a smaller home, but move on to life’s next adventure.
But deep down, Debbie was somehow convinced that her house was too old, needed far too much work, and when compared to other, more opulent homes around the lake, didn’t stand a chance of selling well. She had made many memories in this home, and she wasn’t sure others would be able to see what she already knew.
That’s when Toril and the Toril Sells Houses Team stepped in. Washington, like Lake Tapps, is familiar territory.
They reassured Debbie that they would take care of all the necessities, including the staging and minor repairs. All along the way, assuring a still skeptical Debbie that her house would not only sell – but sell well.
Only a day after the home was on the market, Debbie had over twenty showings. And from that, several offers came in, many well over the asking price. The Toril Sells Homes Team were right. In spite of Debbie’s misgivings, people were defiantly interested.
The final news is what surprised Debbie the most. After all, she’d spent many years in this home. When the team told her the good news, she couldn’t believe what the Toril Sells Houses Team was going to sell her home for.
“Are you sure they want my house? Are you sure they looked at my house?” she asked in pure disbelief.
It looked like they had finally found a buyer, and Debbie could move on to her next adventure.
But sometimes, things don’t work out exactly like we want them too. The buyer that seemed so promising backed out, and once again, they were back to the drawing board.
Fortunately, the Team had dealt with this scenario before, and knew exactly what to do. Undeterred, the Toril Sells Houses Team kept at it – asking for only the highest and best the house could offer. The Team’s persistence paid off.
They received multiple offers yet again. This time, they found the right buyer.
The new owners turned out to be a family, interested in making their own memories in the same place where Debbie Sanders had made so many of her own. They had found there dream. And now, it was time for Debbie to find hers again.
With the help of the Toril Sells Houses Team, as well as the proceeds from her sale, Debbie Sanders was able to purchase a new home in Ocean Shores, near a much larger body of water.
Now, Debbie has a home and mortgage that she can easily manage, and a new family has a large enough place in a great location, to start making some of their own memories.
